Electrical Wiring for Studebaker and Packard


Cotton Braided (OEM)

       -high performance copper core

       -used on earlier Studebakers into the 40’s

       -will cause radio interference and not recommended with electronic ignition

Packard Electric Co. 440 (OEM)

       -high performance tinned copper core

       -originally used by Studebaker until 1961

       -will cause radio interference and not recommended with electronic ignition

       -may be illegal to use in some states, if unsure contact your local DMV 

       -markings on the 440 cable are similar to the originals

       -Packard Electric Company is not the same company as Packard Motor Car Company


 

Packard Electric Co. TVRS (OEM)

       -suppression cable with fiber core

       -originally used by Studebaker from 1961 until the end of production

       -radio suppression avoids radio interference

      
-markings on the TVRS cable are identical to the originals

       

       -several date codes available for 1962-1966 1st and 3rd quarters for each production year


       -Packard Electric Company is not the same company as Packard Motor Car Company

Ignition Cables (spark plug)

We provide spark plug cable sets that include all spark plug cables and distributor to coil cable. 

We uses Studebaker engineering drawings for these cable sets so the lengths are identical to the original cables.  We also label each cable as to what cylinder it goes to, no guess and check! 

We can send you a cable set that is composed of the same type of cable that your originals were made from.  Let us know if you want to change the type of cable used depending on modifications and performance requirements.  See the information below!

Battery & Starter Cables

High quality reproduction cables using cloth or neoprene insulation as required.  Everything is built to Studebaker engineering drawings with the exception of using larger cable.  We now build all 6 volt cables in 1awg where Studebaker often times used 4awg or 2awg.  We also build all 12 volt cables in 2awg which is heavier than what Studebaker calls for originally.
